In Rome on Thursday was shown unknown portrait by Leonardo da Vinci, about the discovery of which was reported in February, reports the Associated Press.Showing recently discovered painting was part of the press conference, which was organized to showcase the unique works. Art lovers will be able to look at work from 8 April to 21 August at the Museum of the ancient people of Lucania (Museo delle antiche genti di Lucania) in the small Italian town of Vallo di Basilicata.Medievalist Nicola Barbatelli (Nicola Barbatelli) found an unknown portrait of the great Italian artist in a private collection in December 2008. Preliminary studies have shown that the work was probably executed during the life of da Vinci, around the end of the 15th century. Based on this, scientists have suggested that the resulting work of art is a self-portrait. Final authorship of the painting, however, has not been established.
